The Sun came out to play again and with high pressure firmly in charge of the weather it's looking like a fantastic Friday and weekend of spring riding to come on the slopes of Meall a' Bhuiridh.
The natural snow fields and gullies that form the bulk of the mid and upper mountain runs retain a great cover, the Main Basin and Spring Run are in super shape and there's endless different lines to take in and around the bowl of the Flypaper for advanced skiers and boarders.
A bank of large kickers are being built between Happy Valley and the Main Basin and should be ready for Saturday, some rail features will also be put in here. Happy Valley is good at the top and bottom, but you now need to switch into the Main Basin to avoid the narrows which is broken.
Mid mountain Thrombosis and the Canyon have a huge depth of snow still, the Wall is also in good shape. Easier terrain is available off the Cliffhanger with Mugs Alley and the Bunny Run.
Plateau Poma uptrack is still complete and you can ski off the Access Chair over to the Poma. But the Plateau runs are broken, so a short walk down the path is required at the end of the day. Alternatively some were heading out round the side of the Plateau to the low level Blue Access Run which can still be skied to about 1800ft, with a bit of heather hoping. The walk is around 8-10minutes now though the bike track makes it relatively easy.
