Looking up the Black side of the Access Chair, pick your gully, the main option was getting bumpy later in the day.
| Skier crosses the Downhill Bike Track bridge back into the Carpark from the slopes of Creag Dhubh.
|
View down the fenced Red Access Run. Top 2/3rds great, bumps were building during the afternoon, few icy patches lower third.
| Looking to Creag Dhubh from the red Access Run, lots of options to start your descent over there.
|
Wipeout on the dry slope attempting a 360 off a small kicker!
| Can ski to the bottom of the Access Chair giving 2400ft of vertical descent.
|
Plateau Poma was the worst queue, eased at Lunch and late afternoon, but encouraged quite a lot of people to lap the Access.
| On the Darkside on the line of the Black Access Run, to skiers left of the mountain river.
|
This was the place to be, never more than a couple of minutes wait if that on the Access Chair and total blast each run.
| Boarder lays out a turn on the lower level Black Access Run.
|
Back up on the main mountain area looking up the Canyon to Ski Tow Gully centre top and the Main Basin to it's right.
| Late afternoon in the Main Basin, great skier / machine packed powdery snow here.
|
This is (was?) the Haggis Trap, now a wide motorway - not so much fun, but made the Main Basin a blast for a cruise.
| Late afternoon way out on the Plateau below the top of the Access Chair, following the mountain river from below the Wall.

Further snow on Saturday evening and drifting as the winds peaked on Sat night, left lots of options for fresh tracks this morning from the Summit all the way to the base with 2400ft of vertical descent on offer.
Excellent on piste conditions on the groomers with machine packed powder conditions. All the various options on Mugs Alley and Old Mugs Alley good, Plateau, Low Road and Access Return all good for green runs.
For the most part just the occasional firmer patch where the base has been exposed. Butthe Spring Run had been great recently, but today it was an ice rink and closed due to the top section having been scoured by stronger overnight winds. Similarly the top of Happy Valley wasn't very happy today, but that snow blew into the Main Basin which was fantastic.
The pick for better skiers and boarders on Sunday was the so called 'Dark Side' of the Access Chair on the steeper slopes of Creag Dhub to skiers left of the mountain river. There were even small bumps building on the low level Access Runs by late afternoon.
Great snow for the most part, the opportunity to ski to the Carpark on both sides of the Access Chair and increasingly fine and settled weather as the week goes on is plenty of reason to plan a mid-week visit. With £25 mid-week adult lift passes it would be almost rude not to!
