The new alignment and new style fencing worked very well in the ferocious Westerly storms on the Ptarmigan Traverse.

Looking up the Ptarmigan Bowl, wide cover and good areas for novices upwards. Piste Bashers keeping surfaces fairly good here.

Report
After teasing us for over a week the wind finally let up enough for the Ciste and Ptarmigan T-bars to make their season debut at the top of CairnGorm on Tuesday.

It is hoped to open the Coire Cas T-bar as well on Wednesday, loading at the top of the Gunbarrel which will give access to the good cover on the Upper Cas while avoiding having to descend to the mid-station on the thin Zig Zags every time.

Limited terrain open, but the Top Basin has very good cover for pre-Christmas, the Ptarmigan and Ciste Bowls are wide and the Fairway is much wider than usual for early season being fence to fence between the Ciste Tow and west Wall Poma.

Full report on Tuesday and lot's more photos in the Public Reports.
