Light winds and a decent dose of Sunshine on CairnGorm on Friday. The full Cas side vertical is still possible via the Fiacaill or with care via the Carpark Run using the T-bar uptrack.
Best cover is up in the Top Basin, but the Ciste T-bar has been out of action following a gear box fault. It's hoped it will be back in action at some point during the weekend, but it may not be on Saturday.
Mid mountain Coire Cas is in great shape with a fairly wide cover out across the boulderfield, Gunbarrel is flat, but if you wish to avoid it the Zig Zags are in decent nick. The base is firm to hard packed, but some loose fresher snow on top and some softening to spring snow in places Friday.
