A few more snow showers, a wee bit of drifting, plenty of walkers and some quad bike traffic helped things along since Helen notched up her 36th consecutive month at the start of the week.
From the Marquis Well's area it was possible with some combat linking to get in 110 turns to literally the door of the Ptarmigan Restaurant, to catch up with Helen on month 36 - having skied every month with linked turns on CairnGorm Mountain for 3 years! Should have placed a bet on that at the bookies in March!
It was possible to ski down the footpath down the Ptarmigan Traverse as the snow was so compacted, but it did make for a very tight piste with not many run outs!
On the walk up it was snowing from the Daylodge up, a brief interlude when in the Ptarmigan for a bowl of soup give way to more snow falling and blowing, plus very low visibility in the hill fog so not many photos.
Below average temperatures with snow falling and blowing on a South Easterly wind down CairnGorm, hopefully a sign of things to come for winter.
